Iceland Volcano Eruption

On Sunday, the Iceland’s civil protection agency announced that there was a volcano eruption in Iceland beside the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in southern Iceland. Luckily, the eruption did not cause immediate damage or injuries.

 

The eruption reportedly happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday beside Eyjafjallajokull glacier, the fifth largest in Iceland. Authorities first thought that the outbreak was below the glacier which threatened that it could result in flooding from glacier melt. However, scientists later determined the location of the eruption and confirmed that it did not occur below the ice.
